Argajit Sarkar
I am a first-year PhD candidate in the Department of Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics at Tripura University, under the guidance of Dr. Surajit Bhattacharjee, Associate Professor and Head of Department.
Unlocking the power of microbiology and machine learning, my research aims to tackle antimicrobial resistance. It leverages LLM, machine learning prediction, and laboratory validation to drive innovation by bridging the gap between wet-lab techniques and computational methods.
Before this, I had worked at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, where we explored the Combinatorial Antimicrobial and Anti-Virulence Potential of Quercetin with Antibiotics Against Vibrio cholerae. I received my B.Sc in Human Physiology (Sept, 2022) at Holy Cross College, Tripura, India. At Tripura University (Central University), I got an M.Sc in Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics (June, 2024). Apart from that, I'm also an NEP 2020 Ambassador, promoting key policies and initiatives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Ministry of Education (Govt. of India).
